Software Released – Written by PhD Student Esteves

PhD student Giovanni Esteves wrote a Graphical User Interface through the commercial math program MATLAB to enable crystallographic computations for all seven crystal systems. For example, it calculates angles between planes and directions and plots the stereographic projection of poles and directions on a Wulff Net.

The GUI is available at http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/56773-metrictens–crystallography and runs within the MATLAB environment. For an independently executable version of this GUI, please email both gesteve@ncsu.edu and jacobjones@ncsu.edu.
