Welcome to the Liu Research group!

 

 

Our research focuses on low-dimensional materials for their novel optoelectronic properties and potential applications.  In particular, we are interested in using TEM imaging and spectroscopy in combination with optical spectroscopies to understand excitons, polaritons and optically active quantum defects in 2D materials.

  • Our paper titled “Highly Confined Epsilon-Near-Zero and Surface Phonon Polaritons in SrTiO3 Membranes” has been published in Nature Communications. Congratulations! (link)
  • Peter Wilson will work in Liu lab for data REU research in the summer of 2024. Peter will develop Python Package for the calculation of reflection of multilayer stacks based on the transfer matrix method. Welcome!
