MSE Sets New Record with 100+ Gifts Received, $85K Raised on NC State’s 2025 Day of Giving

The NC State Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) saw an outstanding show of support on the 2025 Day of Giving on March 26, 2025, raising an impressive $85,095 through 103 donations. The department’s efforts stood out among both peer departments and larger units across the College of Engineering, marking a significant achievement.

Department Head and Kobe Steel Distinguished Professor Donald Brenner expressed his gratitude for the generosity shown by donors. “Your commitment to MSE makes a real difference, and I’m proud to be part of such a dedicated and supportive community,” Brenner shared in a message to the department.

Two major alumni gifts helped to bolster the department’s scholarship and endowed funds, while broad support for discretionary funds ensures continued opportunities for MSE’s students and faculty. These contributions will help strengthen the department’s ability to provide exceptional academic and research experiences.
