🔬✨ New research from NC State MSE is illuminating the path to more efficient organic solar cells! 🌞 Scientists Gaurab Thapa, Mihirsinh Chauhan, Jacob Mauthe, Daniel Dougherty (@ncstate_physics), and Aram Amassian have developed an advanced microscopy technique that reveals how light energy is converted into electricity at the molecular level in organic solar cells. This breakthrough helps identify key factors causing energy loss, allowing researchers to refine the materials` interfaces and improve overall efficiency.

Organic solar cells, made with carbon-based polymers, offer eco-friendly, flexible, and even semi-transparent options for sustainable energy solutions. With this research, the potential for organic solar cells to power lightweight, flexible, and easily transportable applications is closer than ever.

Prizes:
- 1st Place: $300
- 2nd Place: $150
- 3rd Place: $100

Submission Criteria:
- Must visually represent materials science.
- Content should be appropriate for all ages.
- Length: Under 5 minutes.
- Format: Suitable for Reels or TikTok.

Winners will be featured on the department’s social media channels.
