Generous Estate Gift From Engineering Alum To Create Lasting Change in the MSE Department

When Paul Besser ’88 was a scholarship recipient at NC State, he knew that, if he could, he wanted to one day help students attend the College of Engineering with less financial stress. That’s why Besser and his wife, Kathy, recently finalized a $2.5 million estate gift to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering that supports student scholarships and establishes endowments for a professorship and for K-12 outreach.
