Welcome to the Kinga Unocic Lab!

Her research interests include high-temperature oxidation, corrosion, materials in extreme environments, radiation effects, novel materials processing, alloy development, mechanical behavior, and catalysis.

Dr. Kinga Unocic received her master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland in 2002, and her doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2008. Since 2009, she has been a Staff Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Dr. Unocic is an active member of several professional societies, holding leadership roles in the TMS Young Leaders Program, the TMS Diversity Committee, the TMS Corrosion and Environmental Effects Committee, and more. Her recognitions include the 2023 UT-Battelle Award for Technology Transfer, the 2023 TMS Brimacombe Medalist Award, and the 2017 TMS-JIM Young Leaders International Scholar Award.
