Symposium Co-Organizer and Session Chair. Dr. Kinga Unocic served as Symposium Co-Organizer and Session Chair for P05: Advances in Electron Microscopy for Defect and Crystallographic Structure Analysis at the Microscopy & Microanalysis 2026 Conference.

Leadership. Congratulations to Dr. Jorge Galeano for being elected as the International Postdoc Advocacy Committee Chair for the NC State Postdoctoral Association (PDA).

Conference Presentation. Congratulations to Leo Soler for presenting his research poster on the high-temperature oxidation behavior of high-entropy alloys (HEAs) at the 2026 NC State Summer Research Symposium.

Postdoctoral Research Award. Congratulations to Dr. Jorge Galeano for receiving the Audience Choice Best Flash Talk Award at the 2026 North Carolina Postdoctoral Research Symposium for his presentation on advanced electron microscopy studies of high-temperature oxidation.

Keynote Lecture. Dr. Kinga Unocic delivered a keynote lecture at the 12th International Conference on Microscopy of Oxidation (MOX12) in Loughborough, UK, entitled “MEMS-Based Closed-Cell Electron Microscopy for Real-Time Nanoscale Study of NiAl Oxidation under Dry and Wet Conditions.”

Invited Talk. Dr. Kinga Unocic presented an invited talk at the 2026 MRS Spring Meeting entitled “Operando (S)TEM Investigations of Gas–Solid Reactions in Catalysts and Structural Materials under Controlled and Humid Environments.”
